LARC’s Acadian Village was established in 1976 with the mission of preserving our rich Acadiana heritage while helping to support LARC programs. All revenues generated at Acadian Village support LARC. Our largest fundraiser, Noel Acadien au Village is takes place December 1 – December 23 in LARC’s Acadian Village. The Village comes alive with nightly entertainment, photos with Santa, food, carnival rides and of course over a half-million Christmas lights!
The homes that make up LARC’s Acadian Village are AUTHENTIC Acadian architecture. They were restored on site and outfitted with period antiques that depict the early 19th Century. The General Store, New Hope Chapel and the Blacksmith Shop are three REPLICAS also located on the Village grounds. Early life in rural Acadiana is more accurately depicted with the inclusion of the Fernand Stutes Grocery, Bar & Barber Shop on the Village grounds.
LARC’s Acadian Village serves as a training facility and work place for LARC clients in the Mardi Gras Bead Store. A mobile work crew is also responsible for the maintenance of the 10-acre grounds.
Whether you are hosting a fundraiser, planning a wedding, or just throwing a party Acadian Village is the location for you.
